What is chiropractic?
An approach to health based on the body's innate capacity to heal and self-regulate. Chiropractors identify and correct interference (subluxations) in the spine and nervous system that can disrupt communication between brain and body.
Rather than simply treating symptoms, chiropractic addresses the root cause of the dysfunction.
What is a subluxation?
A dysfunction of the spine that interferes with optimal communication between brain and body, compromising the natural capacity to heal and self-regulate. Over time it can show up as discomfort, fatigue or pain, but these are effects, not the real cause.
I'm not in pain: can chiropractic still help me?
Being free of pain is wonderful, but it doesn't mean the body is working at its best. Regular visits keep the spine aligned and the nervous system free of interference: a proactive approach that can prevent future problems rather than waiting for them to appear.
Is pain a good thing or a bad thing?
Pain is the body's natural alarm system. Silencing it without addressing the cause is like taking the battery out of the smoke detector without putting out the fire. Instead of fearing it, we learn to listen to it: often it isn't an enemy but a guide pointing to where attention is needed.
How often should I see a chiropractor?
It depends on you: age, lifestyle, previous injuries and current state of health. Over time we recommend regular check-ups to identify subluxations and correct them when needed: a proactive approach that supports long-term balance.
What does a chiropractor study?
In Europe the path involves at least five full-time academic years: anatomy, physiology, embryology, biomechanics and above all neurology, alongside clinical placements. In Italy the profession is represented by the Italian Chiropractors' Association (AIC).
Does chiropractic help athletes?
Yes: it improves recovery, coordination and balance, and helps prevent injuries. Athletes such as Jannik Sinner, Michael Jordan, Usain Bolt and Marcell Jacobs include chiropractic in their performance routine.
What are the benefits?
People following a chiropractic path often report greater comfort, deeper sleep, more energy, better posture, balance and mobility, sharper focus and a more positive mood.

How much does a visit cost?
The first visit including assessment costs €95 and lasts about an hour. Booking online takes a €20 deposit, with the remaining €75 paid at the clinic.
The following visit, where we present the findings and carry out the first adjustment, costs €65. Each adjustment after that also costs €65 and lasts about 15 minutes. You'll find the full detail on the Booking page.
What happens during the first visit?
We talk about your history and what brought you here, then carry out a set of tests to assess the structure and function of your spine and nervous system. At the following visit we go through the results together and present the recommended course of care, before carrying out the first adjustment.
What are the clinic's opening hours?
Monday 15:00–19:30 · Tuesday 8:00–12:00 and 15:00–19:30 · Wednesday 15:00–19:30 · Thursday 8:00–12:00 and 15:00–19:30 · Friday 8:00–12:00. Visits are by appointment only, but online booking is open 24 hours a day.
Where is the clinic?
At Via Giorgio Washington 59, 20146 Milan, in the Washington / De Angeli area, well served by the M1 metro line (De Angeli) and local trams.
What languages are visits held in?
Italian, English, Spanish and French. Dr. Patrick Terrein studied in Barcelona and worked in Amsterdam before moving to Milan.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
No. In Italy you can go directly to a chiropractor without a referral or prescription. If you're following other treatments, mentioning them during the first visit helps us build the course of care that suits you best.
How do I book?
The quickest way is online booking, available 24 hours a day: choose a service and a time in a couple of minutes. Alternatively you can message us on WhatsApp or by email.
